PRESS RELEASE
FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR MOSCOW AREA
February 11, 2014 (Moscow, Idaho) - Due to recent snow accumulation and warmer weather and precipitation expected this week, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the inland northwest area, including the city of Moscow, until Friday evening. The current flood watch anticipates the potential for localized ponding of water in low-lying areas and/or locations where culverts and storm drains may be covered with snow and ice. Moscow officials advise residents and business owners evaluate snow accumulation on their property and to clear snow from any catch basins or yard drains to allow melting water access to the storm drainage system. If you have an area of concern where plowed snow may be blocking a storm drain, please report the location by calling 882-COPS.
The City of Moscow will continue to monitor conditions and weather predictions and provide updated information as conditions warrant.
