[Vision2020] Proposal: Change Listserv Name

Debi,
So is that the standard to ignore an agreement the rest of us made? Or does it excuse some of the things he posts?
I am not trying to drive him away. I would like to see him follow the rules the rest of us try to follow out of consideration for this community.
I appreciate the good things he does in the community, but I don't view that as a license to do anything he feels like doing.

Well, if ya'll have something to say, I suggest you
say it. Tom posts community news, national info, and international info. You all
never post unless you are hammering Tom. Tom puts his money
where his mouth is, supports local causes, and keeps the
community informed. And you did F---ing what? Beat up Tom? Whoohoo for
you....Until you all do the community service with the $$ to back it, I'm
thinking you might just shut the ghekll up! Just sayin',,,Maybe I'm not aware of
your contributions to the food bank, your assistance with diversity initiatives,
your presence and filming at community events. I may not have seen you at
local art shows, at food collection points, at anti- or-pro whatever protests,
but Tom was there. At all of them. If he wants to post 290 times per day, so be
it....you all don't post unless it is a response to Tom. Get a clue, dudes.
It's so easy to lash back, but it is difficult to make a reasoned argument when
faced with the facts Tom posts.
Perhaps he can consolidate his posts, and perhaps
some are too cute to appeal to you----you are grown-ups. Delete is an option.Get
over yourself, post something substantial, be grown-ups for a minute!
Tired of you Ninny Teas! Who pours? The most
"put out Ninny" of the "Tea Party"? Stop being assine if you want some
credibility. Words too big for you? How about "Just Shut until up you have
ANYTHING of substance to say, you Bozos"?
Rant done...

That s been my general policy, Roger. 9 posts before
9am? C'mon! This is not Tom's personal blog. Many of his posts
would be perfect Facebook fodder-which he uses comparatively little.

I have not checked the vision for a couple of
days, so have missed some of this discussion. Granted Tom posts a lot,
but if you are not interested just delete them. I delete most of the Farmers
Market, Human Toll, and Christ Church Posts. I am hit and miss on Caturday.
It depends on how much time I have. But in general like the posts. As a
member of FIRE I advocate a free and open discussion. I post things from The
Smithsonian, Scientific American, Discover Magazine, National Geographic,
White Pine Native Plant Society, Stuff from Nutrition Publications and
Food Safety. They are probably not of interest to lot of people. Hopefully
they are to some. Use the delete key if you aren't interested

Good
topic to bring up - thanks, Darrell!
Well,
that's one proposal.
My
proposal is that we all get back to honoring the idea of limiting our
posts to three per day. Given the fact that there was a day in July when I
myself didn't honor that, I realize I'm at risk of someone bringing an
analogy about the pots & kettles to my attention
<g>.
However,
the "try to limit your posts to three a day" has, for the most part,
worked for years & years & years, and my hope is that it will work
again because I'm attached to this name!
I
could be wrong, but I don't think most folks mind when individuals
occasionally go over three posts a day when actually engaged in an
active discussion, particularly about local issues. I also think folks are
more tolerant when infrequent posters engage in actual discussions go over
three posts in a day, whether about local issues or not.
BTW,
something I really miss are the discussions about local
issues. Over time, they have become fewer and further between here, it
seems to me. I know for me personally, I don't bring up many local issues
anymore since I no longer subscribe to a local newspaper, so I'd
appreciate learning about local issues I might otherwise be unaware of
from discussion here.
I
think keeping to three posts a day should be something relatively simple
to do, too. Since Darrell brought up Tom's posts, I took a look and Tom
could pretty easily just combine things into one post. For instance, the
three Farmer's Market posts today could have been combined into one, and
the three mp3 posts could have been combined into one, yes?
So,
that's my vote: let's get back to trying to keep our posts to three per
day.

Proposal: Change Listserv Name
I opened up my email this morning at 9am to 8 emails
from Tom Hansen.
And the day is just getting
started.
This made me curious. How much does Tom
post? So I looked at yesterday: 7 emails. Thursday: 8
emails. I stopped there.
In light of this, I propose a name change.
Instead of "Moscow Vision 2020" I propose "Hansen's Moscow
24/7."
All in
favor?
