You sure do spend a considerable amount of your time "not trying to convince me of anything."
Actually saying "I'm sorry" and saying every thing but are two decidedly different things. One is straight forward and honest (something BHO is quite unfamiliar with) and the other is most decidedly not. Also, just to set straight one more of your little mistakes, it was Gates who I said was behaving stupidly, not the prez.
As to the jackass joke, did you have an unfortunate experience with a domesticated beast of burden in your youth? You seem somewhat fixated in a negative way on these noble and dependable barnyard stalwarts.
Or could it be that this is just your sly, but clumsy way of whispering sweet nothings in my ear?

No. I'm relying on the fact that saying you're sorry and expressing regret are pretty much the same thing.
And the 'jackass' comment was a joke, per you comment about Obama's 'stupidity.' Which is not to say that you aren't a jackass!

So, what you're trying to make fly is that rather then relying on what was actually said (and not said) people should read between the lines of what has been written by others reporting on the topic? For someone who isn't trying to convince me of anything you sure are putting in a lot of effort for no discernable result.

I never said he "apologized;" I said he said he was "sorry," meaning he regreted ramping the issue up. Folks can read the article and judge for themselves. As the article notes, the Cambridge police understood the call as an expression of regret and the Washington Post and CNN used that term in their headlines about this story. The only people who see things differently are you and the radical right wingers who watch Fox. Of course that is why Fox exists, so your views are not disturbed by the truth. Like I said, I'm not trying to convince you of anything.

Thanks! I see you have come to your senses, done a little checking, and acknowlage that BHO has refused to appologise for his silly gaff.
From the very first paragraph of your news item"
"President Obama called the Cambridge police officer who arrested his friend, prominent Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., but did not go so far as to say he apologized to the sergeant for saying the police acted "stupidly" during the incident."
The rest of the article pretty much bears out everything I have said over the course of the latest series of posts.
I assume from the latest "jackass" remarks that having to admit that you were wrong (again) leaves you feeling out of sorts?
