streaks of light beneath the grey  
it's sunrise on a winter's day  
soon to be gobbled by the cloud  
Monday morning sky a shroud  

promise of rain with no UV  
silhouettes are coming to be  
mountains emerging from the mist  
the subdued morning light has kissed  

evergreens, trees with no leaves,  
traffic in motion as everyone leaves  
to do whatever wherever they go  
in the morning's regular flow -  

crows disperse from last night's roost  
coffee is brewing just for its boost  
dreams we dreamt have faded away  
like streaks of light they couldn't stay  

on Monday morning, start of the week  
the winter's day of which I now speak  
positive thinking radiating  
beginning the day we share our fates in...
