[Vision2020] Statement in support of gay pride (and more) . . .

Before her passing on June 14, 2017, my wife Rodna provided me the forty-three most wonderful years of my life. To deny any two adults (regardless of race, color, or gender) that experience would simply be . . . WRONG ! ! !

(and more) . . .

While assigned to Kelley Barracks (Stuttgart, Germany), my immediate supervisor was SFC (Sergeant First Class) Geraldine Blount. A few of us suspected that SFC Blount was gay. She was attractive. But she was never seen with a guy. She did, however, hang out with a female master sergeant (whose name I do not recall) assigned to the 84th Army Band. She put the “AHHHH” in “HOT”. She and SFC Blount were buddies. when SFC Blount came down on orders, returning her to the states, she and I shared a couple beers at the NCO club, where she admitted she is gay. I told her that some of us suspected such, and that it simply didn’t matter. She was cool with that.

And now for something different . . .

The Battalion Adjutant back then was CPT (Captain) Kevin Jones. Having been in special forces prior to his assignment to VII Corps, CPT Jones was known for pulling pranks (remind me to share a few of them with you). I and some friends decided to pull a prank on him. Once he signed in to the unit, he applied for government housing. Once he was assigned government housing, he sent for his wife. Once his wife arrived, I and my friends made arrangements with Lieutenant Lee, a friend of CPT Jones. The first evening CPT Jones’ wife arrived. LT Lee accompanied them to their quarters. LT Lee ensured that the bedroom window was open and the curtain closed. I stood outside the window, listening for CPT Jones and his wife to get into bed. Once they got into bed, my friends and I sang . . .
