better obituary commentary.


Choosing one's officiant well in advance augurs against surprise, and 
grants preparation, research, and editing time, which will be noticed 
most by the attending audience whose mental razors are almost always 
automatically sharpened before arrival at the ceremony.

Also, a choice in advance militates against The First Law of 
Composition: "The first draft is crap," even if the officiant is 
relatively unacquainted with the departed.
