Me . . . on my 18th birthday (August 9, 1969) . . . one week before Woodstock . . . at Fort Ord, California . . . in basic training .  My folks drove up from Los Angeles to visit me on my birthday.  Earlier that year my father signed the paperwork permitting me to enlist prior to my 18th birthday.
