[Vision2020] You be the judge . . .

There is a lot of ambiguity which is why this this is a Rorschach test. The short of it is that those who don't agree with his political leanings wouldn't vote for him. I'd doubt if this ad swayed any votes. If I see a Facebook that says 'I'm having a shitty day', I click the 'like' button. I've seen posts (far too many than I'd prefer to see) that say 'my spouse died yesterday'. Those always draw tens and sometimes hundreds of likes.
This thread isn't worth any more of my time. I'll just be careful to remember that anything I 'like' can and will be used against me if I ever run for office which I'm sure I won't because I suck at motivational speaking 101 and I wouldn't want to be associated with either God awful political party. Slinging muck might be an entertaining exercise.

That’s often true. Likes can mean a number of things, but this was
crystal clear. There was no ambiguity. One post with 4 likes was a
“stand your ground and be ready to shoot,” expression of solidarity. A
“like” in this instance, in this email, was a call to arms. \

The problem I have with using a "like" button to condemn somebody's
political views is that you don't know exactly what was meant by it. He
could have just meant "Great! I'm glad to see people that aren't afraid to get
politically involved in something!" We don't know. April 10 was the
date where some protesters had blocked a backhoe and dump truck from entering
the property. This was before the first armed standoff, the involvement of
militia groups, and most of the media circus (at least according to
Wikipedia).

When I click on a
post, I’m doing it because I want it to be known I support what is being
said. I have never considered it a smear campaign when someone forwards
my “like.” It’s simply an indication of my attitude, and frankly I think
it’s important to know that a candidate supports a thief who refuses to pay
the millions he owes the federal government. It makes me wonder just how
well I really know him. I am glad to have this additional information,
because I would have thought John Carlson was more rational. I don’t
extend it to the other candidates who claim to be members of his team because
I don’t know whether they agree with him.

Good to see that
smear campaigns have been reduced to something as non-binding as clicking on
the 'like' button on a Facebook post.
