What does hate look like? What do we do when it confronts us?
Special program: Weds. March 12 6:30pm at 1912 Center - Sponsored by Moscow Human Rights Commission. Speakers: Tony Stewart and Norman Gissel of the Kootenai Task Force on Human Relations. COMING FACE TO FACE WITH HATE: A SEARCH FOR A WORLD BEYOND HATE
Sometimes hate hides behind a smile or is subtle and illusive. Not so Richard Butler's neo-Nazi
Aryan Nations Church of Jesus Christ-Christian, a white supremacist religious organization originally based in in Hayden Lake, Idaho, just north of Coeur d'Alene. The FBI called the Aryan Nations a "terrorist threat", and the Rand corporation called it the "first truly nationwide terrorist network" in the U.S.
The hate was blatant ... hatred of Jews, of Blacks, of all non-Whites, of all mixed marriages etc.
Their posters proclaimed it... their hatred and their respect and love of Hitler ... their intent to create a whites-only region in Idaho.
This event gives you a chance to see some of the Aryan Nations' posters and to hear how the good people of North Idaho came together to combat this terrible ideology.
Learn what they did. Thing about what you would do.
Don't miss this unique opportunity.
Llight refreshments and finger foods provided
