'Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, whose support for California’s anti-gay marriage law Proposition 8 ignited a controversy for the Firefox maker, has resigned.'

'Eich...was named Mozilla’s new CEO on March 24. It was soon revealed that he provided financial backing for Prop 8, inciting calls for his resignation on social media, as well as a noteworthy protest from dating site OkCupid. Eich had defended the $1,000 donation in interviews, saying that his politics did not affect how he would perform as CEO.'
