The following U.S. service member died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from September 13, 2013 through September 19, 2013:

Army Sgt. William D. Brown III, 44, of Franklin, North Carolina; assigned to the 94th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Army Staff Sgt. Randall R. Lane, 43, of Indianapolis, Indiana; assigned to the 190th Transportation Battalion, 38th Sustainment Brigade, Franklin, Indiana.

Army Spc. James T. Wickliffchacin, 22, of Edmond, Oklahoma; assigned to the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, Fort Stewart, Georgia.
