Moscow Police Department to Host 14th Annual Citizen Police Academy
October 9, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - The Moscow Police Department will be holding its 14th Annual Citizen Police Academy from January 29th to April 16th, 2014. Applications are now available and will be accepted through Thursday, January 9, 2014. Applications may be turned in at the Moscow Police Department Lobby, 118 E. 4th Street, Moscow, Idaho from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Spaces for the academy are limited and interested participants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
This eleven-week course meets once every Wednesday from 6 - 9 p.m. from January 29 through April 16, 2014 with one additional Saturday session on a date that will be determined at a later time. This academy provides an excellent opportunity for citizens to learn and experience the law enforcement profession while enhancing communication lines to those citizens we serve and protect.
Course topics include but are not limited to police history, the criminal justice system, patrol procedures, traffic and drug enforcement, criminal investigations, use of force, firearms training, and emergency vehicle operation.
Classes will be held in the Moscow Police Department station briefing room at 118 East 4th Street, Moscow, Idaho with one class being held at the Moscow Police Department's firing range.
