The following U.S. service members died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from April 26, 2013 through May 2, 2013:
 
Marine Staff Sgt. Eric D. Christian, 39, of Warwick, New York; assigned to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Army Spc. Kevin Cardoza, 19, of Mercedes, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36thInfantry, 1stBrigade Combat Team, 1stArmored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. 

Army 1stLt. Brandon J. Landrum, 26, of Lawton, Oklahoma; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36thInfantry, 1stBrigade Combat Team, 1stArmored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. 

Air Force Tech Sgt. Herman Mackey III, 30, of Bakersfield, California; assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.

Army Pfc. Charles P. McClure, 21, of Stratford, Oklahoma; assigned to 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

Army Spc. Thomas P. Murach, 22, of Meridian, Idaho; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36thInfantry, 1stBrigade Combat Team, 1stArmored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. 

Army Staff Sgt. Francis G. Phillips IV, 28, of Meridian, New York; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36thInfantry, 1stBrigade Combat Team, 1stArmored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. 

Air Force Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, 27, of Palmdale, California; assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.

Army Spc. Brandon J. Prescott, 24, of Bend, Oregon; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36thInfantry, 1stBrigade Combat Team, 1stArmored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. 

Army Spc. Trinidad Santiago Jr., 25, of San Diego, California; assigned to 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

Army Staff Sgt. Michael H. Simpson, 30, of San Antonio, Texas; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Marine Cpl. David M. Sonka, 23, of Parker, Colorado; assigned to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Air Force Capt. Mark T. Voss, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.
