>At our Georgia home we get a dumpster load every two weeks for less than the 35 Gallon rate in Moscow.  We share this with hour neighbor, so our cost is less than $500 per year.  Almost anything can be put in the dumpster also except toxic chemicals and a few other items.

>>a)      If you choose on demand, if it gets picked up more than twice per month it will cost more than the weekly 35 gallon service; 3x/month = $18.80.
>>b)      If you choose 35 gallon weekly service and you have extra garbage set out just once during the month, the extra charge for overflow will cost more than the 65 gallon weekly service.
>>For example 35 gallon weekly service = $17.65 + 1 over service fee of $6.40 = $24.05.  The same holds true for a 65 gallon weekly service with one over service per month would cost more than the 95 gallon weekly service fee.

>>PRESS RELEASE
>>Roll Carts are Coming to Moscow
>>
>>April 30, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) — The City of Moscow will soon be implementing a new solid waste roll cart collection system beginning August 1, 2013.  Information about the program was mailed to all City of Moscow residents on April 30, 2013.  With the information is a tear-away survey asking residents to note their desired roll cart sizes.  Citizens are encouraged to return the survey in the included postage-paid envelope to assist the City of Moscow in accurately ordering the right quantity and sizes of carts for this new program.
>>
>>Latah Sanitation, the company the City of Moscow contracts with for solid waste (trash) removal, will supply the new carts to all residents currently using garbage can service. When deciding which cart systems will work best for a household, citizens are asked to remember that under the new system, garbage tags will no longer be accepted or used for extra waste.  The correct sized cart should allow for occasional extra volume as extra bags will be assessed a charge of $6.40 per bag/item.  Options for the carts include 35, 65 and 95 gallon capacities and an on-demand option.  Typical garbage cans used by most households range from 32 to 36 gallons.  To view the carts before making a decision, please visit the Moscow Farmers Market on May 4 and 11, or visit City Hall or Moscow Recycling during regular business hours.
>>
>>Each resident will have 60 days to exchange sizes without and exchange fee.  After 60 days, any additional exchanges will be assessed a $20 exchange fee.
>>
>>For more information, please contact time Tim Davis, Sanitation Manager, by phone at 208.883.7131 or by email at tdavis at ci.moscow.id.us.
