Local folks interested in protecting and enhancing use of Idler's Rest are having an organizational meeting Thursday, March 14 at 1:00 pm, Moscow Food Co-op.  Idler's Rest is managed by the Palouse Land Trust, and is located on the southwest side of Moscow Mountain.  The trail head's wooden steps and handrail have rotted away, leaving an erosive and hazardous approach to the western red cedar grove and Idler's Rest Creek.  Additionally, there appear to be shrub and hardwood-dominated sections of the trail that may need repair, as well as trails that access the old farm west of the road.  If you are interested but unable to attend this meeting, you can contact Pat Rathmann plr23 at cornell.edu after the meeting to get an update.
