Here's a published article on the Swiss (and Israeli) gun situation. Their laws are tighter, and rates of gun possession much less than the US.

Abstract
The 2011 attempted assassination of a US representative renewed the national gun control debate. Gun advocates claim mass-casualty events are mitigated and deterred with three policies: (a) permissive gun laws, (b) widespread gun ownership, (c) and encouragement of armed civilians who can intercept shooters. They cite Switzerland and Israel as exemplars. We evaluate these claims with analysis of International Crime Victimization Survey (ICVS) data and translation of laws and original source material. Swiss and Israeli laws limit firearm ownership and require permit renewal one to four times annually. ICVS analysis finds the United States has more firearms per capita and per household than either country. Switzerland and Israel curtail off-duty soldiers' firearm access to prevent firearm deaths. Suicide among soldiers decreased by 40 per cent after the Israeli army's 2006 reforms. Compared with the United States, Switzerland and Israel have lower gun
 ownership and stricter gun laws, and their policies discourage personal gun ownership.

Hi Roger,

Switzerland and Finland actually (3rd and 4th in the world for gun ownership in the world) actually have relatively high gun death rates. For 2007 Denmark was at 1.45 per 100,000, Canada at 1.25, and the UK, after new restrictions, at .25 per 100,000.  In contrast the Swiss and Finns have 3.84 and 3.6 respectively, but we have the highest at 10.2 per 100,000.

I think that Game Wardens should have the authority to issue citations to any hunter that has a high blood alcohol content.  Walter as Chairman is the best thing that has happened to The Latah County Republicans. Lets not go off half-cocked.
