I may be anti-handgun, but I'm not going to campaign against them, Mr. Rumelhart.
THAT would be contrary to the people's second amendment rights.
Seeya round town, Moscow, because . . .

That's why I gave my little diatribe about why "assault weapons" were being singled out when handguns were statistically a far greater problem.

Surely they don’t support gun violence, do they? Or, maybe they do . . . maybe their intellect has been so poisoned by the NRA & 2A propaganda that they don’t realize that demonstrating against those who are against gun violence is ridiculous.

If so, I can only suggest that you stop keeping your head where the sun don’t shine and get out of your echo chamber because clearly neither are good for you!

Handgun-related homicides are much more frequent than "long gun" related ones, by an order of magnitude (6501 vs. 774 in 2009), according to gunpolicy.org (http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/united-states). Not every rifle-related homicide is a spree shooting, either.

Otherwise, I have to conclude that it's the sensationalism of a spree shooting that has everybody incensed. I guess nobody gets fired up about the 17 (on average) people of all ages that are killed by handguns every day in the U.S., probably because it doesn't dominate the media for months at a time every time it happens, like we see with spree shootings.
