In regard to the postcard there is no point in going to the FBI or any one else. They undoubtedly have more information than anyone else has. Just because it it obvious, does nt mean that it can be peoven.

Correction, Mr. Falen -

Gresham Bouma donated money FROM HIS CAMPAIGN FUND to the Postcard Hoax Fund; money which was returned TO HIS CAMPAIGN FUND in January when the fund closed down.

"How does Tom Hansen know this?" Roger Falen asks.

Answer: Because I, Tom Hansen, was in charge of contributions received.  The funds were maintained in an account at Wells Fargo and returned to each contributor, by check signed by me, Walter Steed, and Dave Nelson (then-chair of the Latah County Dems). "Moscow Cares" donated $1,000 to the fund.

Since, as you say, "Anyone who can add 2 and 2 should be able to figure out who sent out the postcard," I suggest that you contact Walter Steed, the Latah County Sheriff's Office, and (supposedly) the FBI.  According to Walter Steed (as of January 2011), those were the two offices conducting investigations.

I  support Walter in the dispute with Gresham, but you failed to mention that Gresham also donated money to find out who sent out the postcard. Anyone who can add 2 and 2 should be able to figure out who sent out tthe  postcard and it was'nt Gresham. Do not ask me to name the person who did. Since I can't prove anything I won't point fingers. It is not that hard to figure it out however. Just add up who had the motivation and the know how.

Here's some news for you, Mr. Rumelhart -

If the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan were to join the Viz, spewing racist vitriol from his website, much like Judd Wilson does, I'd hate him, too.  You see . . . I stand on my own two feet, nobody else's.

Now, about Gresham Bouma, I have a question . . .

How is the investigation into the Postcard Hoax of 2010 going?

In October '10, the Postcard Hoax Reward Fund was organized (consisting of myself, Walter Steed, and the Chair of the Latah County Dems).  The last word given was by Steed, saying that a collection of the postcards was sent back east to some FBI lab.  That was January 2011.  Are they back yet?

To maintain interest in the Postcard Hoax, "Moscow Cares" has maintained, and will continue to maintain . . .

I'm berating you all for being unwelcoming.  I'm not trying to defend the views of someone I've only met tangentially on the list and have only seen a video he made once a long time ago, a video I no longer have access to.  I remember being impressed by a poetic video that I found interesting and thought-provoking at the time.  I don't remember enough of the video now to proclaim n detail exactly which statements I found interesting, citing quotes from a transcript.  My well thought out position is that you all blew a chance to be nice to someone who just joined the list.  Maybe the next poor bastard that tries to join will have better luck.

@Paul,

This is exactly the kind of response that you typically make when you are on the losing ending of an argument:  repeat in some way what you said before without adding reasons and/or ignoring the point made by some one else.

Saundra asked you in response to one of your statements:

"Do tell what you find so "very interesting" and "thought-provoking" about what he has to say!  I must have missed that between his City Council appearances, the Gresham Bouma campaign ad disguised as a newspaper, and his Internet blogs and postings ... By all means, Paul, if I've missed something "very interesting" and "thought-provoking," which it sounds like you think I have, please do share what it is."

If what you have said above about engaging in discussion  (... reply with well thought out positions,..) isn't total hypocritical bullshit posturing, then respond to and answer exactly what Ms Lund has asked you to, otherwise be thought of as something a chicken does after eating and a phony to boot.

Gosh, Paul, what's the matter?  You don't like that Tom found Judd Wilson's own words to tell us more about the kind of fellow he really is?  What a clever boots Wilson is to provide us here on the Viz with such an impeccably white-washed introductory screed full of back-handed insults and incivility all the while claiming to be a most civil, respectful, charming fella!  Wayne Fox's response was spot on, IMO.

Do tell what you find so "very interesting" and "thought-provoking" about what he has to say!  I must have missed that between his City Council appearances, the Gresham Bouma campaign ad disguised as a newspaper, and his Internet blogs and postings.  As I think I mentioned at the time, I found his attempt to squelch the Constitutionally guaranteed free speech of those with whom he disagrees morally repugnant.  I also think that stunt showed him for the theocracy-craving hypocrite he is, and nothing in his sunny little introduction here changes that.

Do you think homosexuality is unnatural, unhealthy, morally wrong, and corrosive to society, as does Judd Wilson?  Do you think that employment and housing discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation are legitimate, as does Judd Wilson?  Do you think the Bible and any one interpretation of it should be the rule of the land, the way Judd Wilson does?

By all means, Paul, if I've missed something "very interesting" and "thought-provoking," which it sounds like you think I have, please do share what it is.  Personally, I've decided that for myself, life is too short and I'm less willing to suffer lightly wolves in sheep clothing than I was 20 years ago.

You know, we on this list can choose to go about this a couple of different ways.  We can welcome him to the list, engage him in polite discourse, think about what he says and reply with well thought out positions, and generally treat him as we would like to be treated if we ever wandered onto a forum where the tables were turned.  Or we could simply let our prejudices judge him before he even gets a chance to (figuratively) open his mouth on this list.

I didn't realize until you all started ridiculing him that he was the fellow I saw a DVD of one day with a friend of mine.  While I didn't agree with his general outlook, I did find that he had some very interesting and thought-provoking things to say.  I'm hoping he endures the feces that I suspect will continue to be thrown at him for a long time to come, and doesn't get discouraged and stays on this list.

You know what is really precious about this fellow?  It's his total lack of self awareness.  Just below and to the left of the bolded caps in the masthead THE OFFICAL WEBSITE OF JUDD WILSON  there are tiny little faded blue letters (maybe a size 4 font.  I can barely read are the words "Faith, Hope and Love."  This is too delicious, and ironic for words.

And what happens when white American boys actually do commit evil acts, such as Adam Lanza's senseless murders in Newtown, Conn.?  The "reporters" don't bother to report on the reasons why that boy, or his counterparts in Aurora, or Columbine and elsewhere, have become murderers.  They automatically forget that since the 1960s this country has turned its founding stock - Christian white men and their families - into the targets of every slander, lie, and perversion known to man."
