PRESS RELEASE
Moscow Farmers Market temporary relocation prompts City study of location alternative

June 29, 2012 (Moscow, Idaho) - The temporary relocation of the Moscow Farmers Market has resulted in an overwhelmingly positive response from citizens regarding location of the Market on Main Street. City officials, in the interest of gathering as much public feedback and information as possible, will be conducting a study to evaluate public response to holding the Market on Main Street. To do so, the temporary relocation of the Moscow Farmers Market will be extended by one week to include the July 7th Market.

Methods of evaluation will include a survey specific to measuring issues related to location including Market patrons' perceptions regarding safety, general atmosphere, and business patronage. In addition, vendor and Main Street business input will be sought and carefully considered.

The Moscow Arts Commission (MAC) will also hold a public feedback session at their upcoming meeting on July 10th. Regular MAC business will be discussed from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Following, at 5:30 p.m., a public information and feedback session will be held and all interested are invited to share their thoughts regarding the positive and negative aspects of holding the Farmers Market on Main Street. All feedback from the surveys and public input received will be compiled and forwarded to the City Council for consideration.

For more information regarding the Moscow Farmers Market location evaluation, please contact Jen Pfiffner, Assistant to the City Supervisor by phone at 208.883.7123 or by email at jpfiffner at ci.moscow.id.us<mailto:jpfiffner at ci.moscow.id.us>.
