PRESS RELEASE
Title: Urban Sketching – Call for Artists
December 03, 2012 – The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission are currently accepting submissions from local and regional artists for the upcoming Urban Sketching Exhibit at the Third Street Gallery. The show will begin January 11, 2013 and run through January 25, 2013.
Original work done in drawing, quick drawing, and/or sketching will be eligible for entry for this short exhibit. Acceptable mediums include: pencil, pen, ink, marker, graphite, and/or charcoal. Submitted works should reflect the subject matter of urban subjects, such as: buildings, street scenes, Moscow Farmers Market, etc. To view photos of the Moscow Farmers Market, please visit our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/MoscowFarmersMarket.
Applications are due January 2, 2013. Please submit a completed application, a typed artist statement / resume for publicity purposes, and an inventory list. Photographs of art pieces suitable for review can be emailed to dscallorn at ci.moscow.id.us<mailto:dscallorn at ci.moscow.id.us>. See the Urban Sketching Call for Artists application for details.
Accepted wall pieces must be framed and equipped with a wire hanger. If work is to be sold, please price accordingly (20% commission and 6% sales tax). If you took part in a previous exhibit, please do not submit the same work. Artists from out-of-town are responsible for delivering and picking up their own work. Please ensure that all works submitted for consideration are in good condition and can withstand ordinary strains of packing and transportation.
Notification of the work selected for the exhibit will take place by January 3, 2013.
The exhibit will begin January 11, 2013 and run through January 25, 2013.
Drop off applications at the Arts Department in Moscow City Hall (206 East Third Street – 1st Floor) or mail to Art Department c/o DJ Scallorn PO Box 9203, Moscow, ID 83843.
