Keith Lehrer is visiting WSU this week and giving a talk on Friday April 1,
3:30 pm in CUE 203. The talk is entitled “Art, Self, and Society” and should
be VERY interesting.

Lehrer was my mentor and dissertation director, so it is important to me
that we have a good turn out. If you could pass this information along I
would appreciate it.

Lehrer also happens to be one of the world’s greatest living philosophers.
He is celebrating 50 years in philosophy and travelling the world, giving
talks at Brown University and other places along the way. His primary areas
of research are epistemology (the theory of knowledge), free will, and
philosophy of art. He retired a few years ago and took up painting. That got
him interested in philosophy of art, so he eventually went back to work
teaching, continuing to paint in his spare time. You can see his paintings
here:

Pass the word and hope to see you there!
