[Vision2020] Friendship Square Benches

Kit's right, although I'm not sure there are any more spots available for
said benches.  The last one I can recall is the one that was dedicated to
Lee Newbill, and that could very well have been the last available spot.  I
recall former city Parks/Facilities Manager Roger Blanchard had a map of the
benches and the spots still available back when I was helping someone else
asking the same question in 2008, so I'm sure his replacement Tom Grundin
would have the same information.

Like I said, though, I think we (and by we, I mean the Parks and Rec
Commission and the City Council) would probably have to look at if we want
to take up any more of the open space at Friendship Square with benches.  

There is a Parks and Rec Commission meeting tomorrow, and as Council Liaison
I will see if I can get the info on the benches if you haven't received any
yet.

The benches installed after the renovation of Friendship Square were
purchased, inscribed, and dedicated to various individuals. They were
presented with due ceremony. The program was intended to continue, so I
assume one could still fund a bench somewhere in town. I believe parks & rec
was in charge.
