Rosemary,

Thank you for raising some very important and revealing questions with respect to the actions of the cult and serial pedophile Steven Sitler.

Here are some facts for those who may have forgotten.

From:   Case No. Cr-2005-02027, RULE 11 PLEA AGREEMENT

2.         The State agrees that it will not recommend a sentence greater than a judgment of conviction with the court retaining jurisdiction. The prosecuting attorney has been made aware by counsel for the defendant that the volume and extent of acts by the defendant are greater than the investigator's documentation. The prosecuting attorney has also been made aware by counsel for the defendant that similar acts occurred in connection with minors now residing in other states. The State agrees that it will not charge Steven James Sitler with any other crimes of a similar nature to Lewd Conduct with a Minor Under Sixteen Years of Age based on facts he discloses in connection with this case.

Dear Mr. Thompson:

I have reviewed the Rule II Plea Agreement in State v. Steven Sitler, Cause [sic] No. CR-2005-02027, specifically paragraphs 2 and 3.   I find that both paragraphs accurately stale my position in this matter, wherein no charges will be pursued concerning disclosed Stevens County victims for crimes similar to Lewd Conduct with a Minor Under Sixteen Years of Age.

Steven has admitted to several incidents of sexual perversion. We personally only know of the full details of his molestation of our daughter, Elizabeth. When she was only two years old, Steven offered to take her downstairs and watch her while the adults were talking upstairs. At that time he forced her to kiss his erect penis. It was painful enough to be told of the perversion that Steven committed against Elizabeth yet now we have watched for the last six months as an admitted child molester has been living in the comforts of his parent's home, whiling away the days that should be spent in jail.

Notice the use of plurals in the plea agreement and the letter from Wetle.

What kind of proposed union is this where there is some probability that children may be produced to be used as fodder for a serial pedophile?  What kind of alleged Christian organization would countenance this?  To what extent has the wealth of Sitler's family influenced this outrage, especially considering the insatiable voracity of Cult Master Douglas Wilson for cash.  

I also so wonder if this is not the time for a probing lie detector exam of Sitler to determine if he has without fail obeyed at all times the conditions of his probation, especially those that proscribe that he be with a chaperon at all times when out of his residence (as I have observed on one occasion).

  Greetings  to Christ Church Elders Dale Courtney, Dr. John Grauke, Matt Gray, Ed Iverson, Mike Lawyer, Csaba Leidenfrost, Ben Merkle, Jim Nance, John Sawyer, Wes Struble, Matt Whitling, and Gordon Wilson, and Pastor Doug Wilson

  According to the Christ Church constitution:  "Under Christ, the authority of the local church is the board of elders or presbyters in session. The elders are collectively responsible for ruling/shepherding [the flock]." How does this spiritual responsibility square with the wedding bans announced repeatedly in recent church bulletin [s] concerning the June 11, 2011 marriage of former New Saint Andrews student and convicted pedophile, Steven Sitler?  The publishing of the marriage bans strongly suggests that this union has received the approval and support of the elders, and most especially your pastor, Doug Wilson.  It also serves as a cruel example of your willingness to brush aside and minimize the pain this man has caused in your faith community.  What a squalid illustration of petty, tin-pot ecclesiastic power run amok.

  How does this engagement meet your own biblical courtship standards?  Did Miss Travis' father interview and approve of Steven Sitler as a worthy choice for his daughter?  Does he fully understand Steven Sitler's long history of dozens upon dozens of  pedophilic attacks? Have you shared your intimate knowledge of Steven Sitler's transgression with her home church pastor?  If not, why not? Perhaps one of you is acting in loco parentis for her - is this how you guard and protect her as a father?  In truth, don't all of you represent her spiritual fathers?  Who among you would permit Steven Sitler unsupervised, unlimited, parental control over your children or grandchildren?  Which of you would allow/bless the union of your daughter or granddaughter to Steven Sitler?  By what standard do your protect your daughters and granddaughters, but not the daughters of other men? Who among you is defending/urging this marriage, and why is he doing so? 
  It is to be hoped that none of you have been told that marriage is the prescription for curing pedophilia - it's not.  It is to be hoped that none of you have been told or believe that psychiatric therapy, or prescription drugs prevent pedophilic behavior - they don't.  It should be abundantly clear to you that repentance  (even if sincere) does not cancel out or erase the offense.   How will you know what harm might occur to children born from this marriage?   Do you consider Steven Sitler's (potential) children so disposable that you can easily abrogate your responsibility for the any future acts of pedophilia he might commit in the comfort and convenience of his own living room? 
  What parallels can be drawn between Matthew 24:27 and your own tacit acquiescence to this marriage?  "When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it."
  Mrs. Nancy Wilson has written on the duty of a wife to respect her husband.  You probably remember that it began "Women want to be led. Of course, we don't always act like it. In fact, sometimes we resist it like crazy. But despite all this, God has created woman to be led by her husband, and He has created in the woman the desire for strong male leadership." Where and to what to you imagine Steve Sitler will lead his wife?

  Because you profess the doctrine of scriptural inerrancy, how do you think Matthew 18:5 applies to your public approval of this marriage?  "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea."  Do you feel righteous and manly when you look into the innocent eyes of your own children and grandchildren and pretend to be a godly man who defends the innocent?  Your acquiescence in this abomination is cowardly and despicable.  Shame, shame, shame on all of you.
