[Vision2020] A Resolution for the 112th Congress (after the Tucson Tragedy)

Then why not make them look like cross hairs? I have been effectively peering through rifle scopes for nearly twice the number of years you've been alive. In a scope the lines that make up the reticle can not physically extend beyond the diameter of the tube which defines the circle and they are always black. 

If they had been cross hairs I would still have no problem with the map because as you say this sort of symbology is common fare with both sides of the political fence. After all, "politics is an expression of warfare by other means." ( my most sincere apologies to Von Clausewitz)

Now, please lay out for me the logical mechanism for why an  explanation of the symbols would me made PRE facto? Now, why not simply admit that The whole map brouhaha is just another manifestation of Palin derangement syndrome and seek help?
