[Vision2020] Amended Petition to Intervene (Highway 12 Megaloads)

Greetings Visionaires -

The Highway 12 Megaloads portion of the "Moscow Cares" website has
beenupdated to include a copy of the Amended Petition to Intervene (filed
November 30, 2010) adding ten additional Petitioners/Proposed Intervenors
to this action.  The Amended Petition is quoted:

"PROPOSED INTERVENORS

5. Linwood Laughy and Karen (“Borg”) Hendrickson are longtime residents,
business people, and property owners on Highway 12. They own two
businesses that depend on central Idaho’s tourism industry: Mountain
Meadow Press, a book publishing company with a primary focus on the
history of and recreation in the north central Idaho area; and Lewis-Clark
Road Tours, which provides heritage tours on Highway 12 and nearby
environs to guests from all over the United States. Mr. Laughy and Ms.
Hendrickson reside at 5695 Highway 12, Kooskia, Idaho.

6. Peter Grubb, along with his wife, built and manages the River Dance
Lodge, which is located on Highway 12 in Syringa, Idaho. Mr. Grubb and his
wife also own ROW Adventures, a commercial rafting company that takes
guests down the Lochsa and other rivers. Mr. Grubb’s address is P. O. Box
579, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83816.

7. John Crock has owned and operated Hyperspud Sports, an outdoor gear
store located in Moscow, Idaho, for the last 21 years. Hyperspud Sports
receives a substantial portion of its business from individuals bound for
recreational activities in the Highway 12 corridor. Mr. Crock’s address is
402 South Main Street, Moscow, ID 83843.

8. Owen and Mary Ann Fiore have enjoyed picnicking, camping, and viewing
the scenic beauty of the Highway 12 corridor for the past 50 years. Since
moving to Syringa in 1994, they have relied on Highway 12 for access to
medical and dental care. Mr. and Mrs. Fiore reside at 7681 Highway 12,
near Milepost 90, in Syringa, Idaho.

9. Janice and Roger Inghram are life-long residents of Idaho County who
regularly use Highway 12 to pursue their passions for hiking,
birdwatching, and backcountry horseback riding. They rely on the
Clearwater Wild and Scenic River Corridor to provide subjects for their
outdoor photography business and the area’s vibrant tourism industry to
provide customers. Mr. and Mrs. Inghram reside at 61 Whitetail Acres Lane,
Grangeville, Idaho 83530.

10. Julian Matthews is a member of the Nez Perce Tribe who frequently
visits the Highway 12 corridor to hike, hunt, and fish. He cherishes the
scenic beauty and intact ecosystems of the Clearwater and Lochsa River
corridor. Mr. Matthews resides at 1820 Northwest Arcadia in Pullman,
Washington.

11. Ruth and Jim May own and operate the Reflections Inn, an eight-bedroom
bed-and-breakfast that provides a quiet getaway for retirees and
motorcycle enthusiasts alike. They reside at 6873 Highway 12 near Kooskia,
Idaho.

12. Gail and Richard Ryan retired to the Highway 12 corridor to enjoy its
peace, quiet, and scenic beauty. They rely on Highway 12 for access to
medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan reside at 8735 Highway 12, one mile west
of Lowell, Idaho."

It is reassuring to read that, although our own city council may not care,
some Moscow citizens are taking an active interest in this vital issue.
