Let us not fail to notice that these ratings were obtained on the same night
that occurred the greatest shift in recent memory of U.S. Federal legislative
seats from Democrat to Republican partisans. Control of the U.S. House of
Representatives changed from Democrat to Republican, and the percentage of
Democrats in the U.S. Senate was reduced.
That such high ratings coincided with the voting performance of millions who
delivered a shellacking to various Democratic incumbents is not surprising,
especially considering those millions were accustomed to FOX's ongoing fund
raising activities for Republican Party candidates. Viewers were merely tuning
in to learn how effective were their contributions, not to receive actual
journalistic news presentations.
Here is a link to Rachel Maddow discussing the difference between professional
journalism and FOX propaganda and fund raising en masque as what it is not.
