As promised, here is the background (to the degree that it is available)

Hello, Ms. Huskey,
I can't confirm when the program was first offered, only that it was being
offered in 1986 because that's the furthest back my resources go. As a staff
member in the Department of University Publications and not affiliated
directly with the colleges, I have limited access to checking specifics for
old academic material. The 1986 associate degree programs catalog contains a
program description for Solar and Thermal Technology; the degree at that
time being offered for it was an associate in engineering.
To trace the progression of that program to what it may be folded into now,
if that's your aim, your best bet would be to contact someone in the College
of Engineering. My guess is that the best place to contact would be the
School of Engineering Design, Technology, and Professional Programs. See
contact information at:

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
Best wishes,
Sally

Good Morning Ms. Heffentreyer,
I have learned that Penn State University offered a degree in Solar
Technology as early as 1982. Can you confirm this for me?
Thank You,
