[Vision2020] A Word From the Mayor

It's a college rivalry, Mr. Coombs. Get over it.
"Who do we hate? Boise State" is extremely mild, almost passive, when
compared to other rivalries. Take, for instance . . .
----------------
UCLA/USC
I have attended so many UCLA/USC games, while growing up in Los Angeles, it
simply became something we did without question. Some of the antics that
the competing student bodies played on each other were historic.
One of the milder ones that UCLA pulled: They hired a sky-writer to write
"Trojans Go Home . . . Your Horse Has Herpes" at the beginning of the game.
One not-so-nice antic pulled by USC: Passing out leaflets at the gate with
crimson and gold lettering "FUCLA"
----------------
The "Civil War" between Oregon/Oregon State
One year, the national guard was called out to quell a riot . . . two hours
before the game.
----------------
Florida/Florida State
This rivalry is legendary. Some of the antics pulled in this rivalry
resulted in civil litigation.
----------------
Texas/Oklahoma
I really don't feel I need to explain the viciousness of some of these
pranks.
----------------
And these are just a few.

People in the past -- and you know who you are -- who
have carried on with "Who do we hate? Boise State!"
haven't done a lot to make our town seem sophisticated.
Or even populated with adults.
