Visionaries,
I've just discovered a fascinating web site: www.stimuluswatch.org, which
tracks stimulus projects in all 50 states. It is run by volunteers at
George Mason University and as far as I can tell is quite accurate and
up-to-date-for example, it identifies Head Start and Early Head Start
recovery programs, which I have had trouble tracking elsewhere, including on
recovery.gov, the federal government's recovery website.
You can also vote as to whether or not you think any given project is a
worthwhile expenditure of stimulus funds-an opportunity to "vote early and
vote often."
It estimates jobs created too, but I wouldn't put much stock in that. The
quarterly reports due from the Council of Economic Advisers should be much
more accurate for job creation estimates.
Check it out. It's pretty interesting to see what all is going on.
