The following U.S. service members died while supporting combat operations
in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from January 29, 2010
through February 4, 2010:

Army Staff Sgt. Rusty H. Christian, 24, of Greenville, Tennessee; assigned
to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord,
Washington.

Army Sgt. Dillon B. Foxx, 22, of Traverse City, Michigan; assigned to the
1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team,
82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Sgt. 1st Class David J. Hartman, 27, of Okinawa, Japan; assigned to
the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), 95th Civil Affairs Brigade
(Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Pfc. Zachary G. Lovejoy, 20, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; assigned to
the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat
Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Matthew S. Sluss-Tiller, 35, of Callettsburg,
Kentucky; assigned to the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), 95th
Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Staff Sgt. Mark A. Stets, 39, of El Cajon, California; assigned to
the 8th Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne), 4th Psychological
Operations Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Army Capt. Daniel Whitten, 28, of Grimes, Iowa; assigned to the 1st
Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team,
82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
