LT. COL. WHO REFUSED TO DEPLOY GOES TO TRIAL

The trial of a lieutenant colonel who refused to deploy unless President
Barack Obama proved he was born in the U.S. is scheduled to begin Dec. 14.

Lt. Col Terrence Lakin, a flight surgeon with 18 years in the Army, is
being court-martialed for disobeying a deploy­ment order to Afghanistan
because he doubts Obama’s qualifications to serve as commander in chief.

Lakin faces five offenses for allegedly disobeying orders and may serve up
to four years of hard labor in prison if convicted, according to bi-weekly
publication Sonoran News. In September, a military judge ruled Obama’s
birth records and any other evidence or witnesses pertaining to Obama’s
birth are not relevant to the case and will not be admitted.

Lakin’s lawyer has argued that if Obama isn’t a natural­born citizen, any
military order given under his adminis­tration is unlawful.
