[Vision2020] Press Release: Robbery at Movie Gallery

PRESS RELEASE
September 20, 2009
On Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 10:57 p.m. officers responded to a
report of a robbery at the Movie Gallery located at 1404 South Blaine
within the Eastside Marketplace complex. The victim (employee of Movie
Gallery) stated a Hispanic male who had been in the store for a short
period of time approached him while he was at the counter. The victim
noticed the male had covered the lower part of his face with a black
handkerchief as he walked toward the counter. The suspect handed the
victim a duffel bag, brandished a firearm and told the victim to put the
money in the duffel bag. After the victim placed the money in the bag
the suspect fled the store east on foot. No vehicle was seen. The
suspect took over 800 dollars in cash.
The description of the suspect is: Hispanic male, approximately 230
pounds, 6 feet tall, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a gray pullover
sweatshirt with a hood and pocket in the front, red or orange lettering
across the front of the sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes. The
firearm is described as a black semi-auto type pistol with a laser sight
below the barrel.
The Moscow Police Department is asking anyone with information on this
robbery or observed a subject matching the description of the suspect
above while in the vicinity of Eastside Marketplace on Saturday night to
call 882-COPS (2677) or our anonymous tip hotline at 892-3898.
