AFA might as well stand for the Airhead Flat-earth Association.

Just the poorly parsed English bugged the hell out of me, let alone the offensive language. "Persons trapped" is a ridiculous stetement and "statistically higher" seems related to enjoyable substance use, not to a clinical study. Obviously a study conclusion to be voided. This whole thing seems farcical in the extreme, and anyone with a modicum of either self-respect or thinking ability can just check "stupid conclusions" on their "have read" checklist....By all means, let the Religious Right have their rants. They scare away more folks than they convert, they show their own inability to understand fact, and they lose converts by abusing the ability to think--- so dang laughable, but with so many nitwits willing to follow along...

I support the "homosexual agenda" do you think Pepsi will give me free soda? I went to the Boycott Pepsi website, it was the best laugh I have had in a long time. The "offensive" commercials were great, I really enjoyed the one at the bottom. And well, Family Guy is an offensive and rude tv show anyway, I think that part of its appeal, though I never really have watched it.
This quote was too much for me to let slide through, "It's a medical fact that persons trapped in homosexuality are statistically higher to experience shortened life spans, clinical depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and life-ending diseases. Why can't PepsiCo understand that is not a good cause to be supporting?" First of all, shortened life spans, clinical depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and life ending diseases, effect way more of the population than just gay people. Second, with people telling us that we are sinful disgusting people who deserve to go to hell, its no wonder there are substance abuse problems and depression. The things people say and do, thinking it is ok, amazes me. When Christianity gets so twisted into people's fear and ignorance, it becomes a very scary and destructive force..
Seriously, even when I was at my most religious and conservative, I knew that verbally abusing and threatening eternal damnation was not ok, it is never ok. No matter what you believe or feel about something it is never ok to hurt another person, just to make yourself feel better, or in the name of you god. I wonder what would happen in our country and our world if we all stopped thinking about ourselves for a day and focused on others.
Anyway, enough rambling, time to eat lunch!

PepsiCo boycott petition reaches 500,000 signers
American Family Association (AFA) says it has now secured over 500,000 signatures from those pledging to boycott the PepsiCo Company over its continued support of same-sex marriage and homosexual advocacy. AFA has been promoting a boycott of PepsiCo since January, 2009.
AFA asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war and not support the homosexual agenda. PepsiCo refused. The company continues to give financial support to homosexual organizations.
President Tim Wildmon says AFA is committed to the boycott as long as PepsiCo is advancing a lifestyle that is extremely unhealthy and dangerous. "It's a medical fact that persons trapped in homosexuality are statistically higher to experience shortened life spans, clinical depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and life-ending diseases. Why can't PepsiCo understand that is not a good cause to be supporting?"
PepsiCo gave $500,000 to Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and another $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The total of $1,000,000 was used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace. HRC and PFLAG were major supporters of the efforts to defeat Proposition 8 in California, which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC gave $2.3 million to the effort to defeat Prop 8.
