[Vision2020] driving routes to boise/las vegas

The road looks clearer than 55 was, but that may be a function of having a plow somewhere in front of you. Doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference, though 95 is probably easier because it's not right next to the river.
I was headed for Sun Valley, and had to go through Boise. On Sunday when I came back 21 was still closed around 10 am.

I was between New Meadows and Council about 2:30 p.m. and
it was ugly.

Kai,
What time were you on the New Meadows-Council
stretch last Thursday? I left McCall about 1 pm, and it was bad down to
Horseshoe Bend, though I could get up to 45 or so; any faster and I was afraid
I'd lose it.

US 95 to I-84. Go east on I-84 to US 93 and south
through Twin Falls to Vegas.
New Meadows to Council can be sketchy, it was bad
(25 mph) last Thursday.
Alternate route:
US 95 to US 12 and east to Walla Walla, then
south on 125 to Pendleton and I-84.
Passes near Baker City can get slick, and there
is quite a bit of construction going on between Baker City and Ontario Oregon.
As there is thorugh Boise.

Hi All:
I am interested in hearing (off list is fine) from those
of you who drive to Boise especially at this time of year when there is
variable weather as to which route(s) you prefer and why. Also how
about from Boise to Las Vegas?
My daughter thinks a spring break trip to Las Vegas (a
free hotel room awaits!) with friends sounds like a great way to get away
from snow and cold.
Advice?
