[Vision2020] Waste to Energy

Shouldn't we maybe look at trying something different than continuing to waste fuel & dumping methane into the atmosphere just to landfill our garbage?  Why not consider building a Gas Plasmafication (harnessing lightning) energy plant at the existing collection site?  They can take in any garbage and plant based farming waste and turn it into electricity where the plant powers itself and still has a net gain with zero emissions.  The same process is also already proven for taking the farm waste and converting some into electricity while sequestering carbon into the soil as a clean fertilizer that increases yeilds by 50%.  A technique that was used by the ancient amazonians.

Request by Waste Management, Inc. to Assign Solid Waste Export Contract to Waste Connections of Idaho, Inc. - Gary J. Riedner/Randy Fife The City has received a request from Waste Management, Inc. to assign its right under the contract to Waste Connections of Idaho, Inc. which is the company that has been subcontracting the actual hauling of municipal solid waste from the Latah Sanitation Transfer Station to Waste Management's landfill at Arlington, Oregon. The terms of the contract between the City of Moscow and Waste Management contains a provision which allows for assignment with the City's written consent. Staff reviewed and edited the document and recommends approval. Reviewed by the Administrative Committee on January 12 and 26, 2009.   ACTION: Approve assignment of Waste Management Solid Waste Export Contract to Waste Connections of Idaho.----------------------------------------------------------------------
