Bill,

Is the Co-Op going to match any of the donations given by its shoppers, or is it simply acting as an alternative to writing a check directly to the charities you listed?

Thanks for the clarification.

Your Friend,

Donovan Arnold

Moscow Food Co-op Launches Giving Program

Moscow Food Co-op shoppers can now donate to local non-profit groups when making other purchases at the cash register. Through the Co-op's new Impulse Giving Program, shoppers may donate any amount to non-profit organizations participating in the program.

At the checkout counter, customers can choose the organization and the amount they would like to give. The cashier will ring up the donation along with the purchase. All donations will be paid out to the organization each month.

Groups currently participating in the Impulse Giving program are:

Local groups interested in applying to participate in the Impulse Giving program are encouraged to submit an application. Applications are available on the Co-op’s website (www.moscowfood.coop) and also in the newsstand rack at the back of the store. A committee made up of two Co-op board members, two Co-op staff members, and two Co-op customer members will review the applications and select recipients each quarter.

The Co-op is located at 121 East Fifth Street in downtown Moscow.
