Donovan,
I'm sorry to find you saddened. But I never mentioned Adams, Hamilton or Jefferson, who,
being lawyers YOU would just have shot out of hand - Remember, YOU said all lawyers should
be shot.
And again, you must be reading abridged history books, as there were NO states. There were
elected CROWN legislatures, that answered to PARLIAMENT back in London, that they turned
their backs on their nation, the United Kingdom, and violated their oaths of office to the
Crown.
And while the King was in fact the head of government, there was, as there is today, an
ELECTED parliament..... remember the American REVOLUTION was in the late 1700's, not the
middle ages when a king ruled without a parliament
And, I referred to "legitimately elected governments", I never said democratically
elected. Or is
THE only legitimate form of government in your mind a democratically elected one?
And as to attacking Afghanistan because they attacked us, WHERE? If you dragged out that
argument based on the New York and Washington attacks, the attackers were from Saudi
Arabia, NOT Afghanistan! But it seems that George Bush overlooked that. And who from Iraq
attacked us? Where? Or have you bought off on the WMD myth?
And while agree we can, and should LEGALLY detain terrorists captured in the United
States,
you really think we have the "right" to go into any country in the world and just seize
their
citizens without any kind of due process? Because if you do, that means they can also come
here and snatch our citizens off of our streets and do the same.
And President Obama DOES NOT agree, that is why he has ORDERED the prison in Cuba
CLOSED, his number is 202-456-1414, call and ask if you doubt that. And you can't really
be
serious when you state that the prisoners in Guantanamo Bay Prison are better off in
prison
than if they were free in their native countries.
