Our government is a government of the people, by the people, and for the 
people as Lincoln stated so eloquently in the Gettysburg Address.  It is 
our duty collectively to enhance it where we can, and to fix it if it's 
broken.  The first step to fixing something is to acknowledge that it is 
broken, and to determine exactly how it happened, and (after the 
postmortem is concluded) to use that knowledge to make it better.

Scoffing at those that are diagnosing the problem makes as much sense as 
heckling your mechanic for having the nerve to tell you that your car 
isn't running well.  After all, what's he thinking?  You love your car, 
it's a great car - how dare he tell you there is something wrong with it.

We've been all through these arguments many times before.  If you want a 
better America (hey, it's part of the damn name already!) - you won't 
get there by refusing to acknowledge it's flaws.
