LOCAL FEEDBACK TO THE OBAMA TRANSITION TEAM:

WHERE DO WE IN LATAH COUNTY WANT THE

PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS TO GO NOW?

MOSCOW, IDAHO - Local Obama for America supporters have organized a town meeting to solicit feedback on six important policy agenda items for the new administration in Washington, DC.

Monday, December 22, at 7 PM, the group invites people to gather at the 1912 Center Great Room for two hours of discussion on the specifics of what people in Latah County want the new administration and Congress to do on the major issues facing the country. The opinions and ideas gathered will be forwarded to President Obama's transition team, the Idaho Congressional delegation and to Governor Otter.

Judy Brown, Aly Lamar, Nancy Nelson and Linda Pall are the organizers of this meeting, being held at the same time as house parties are being held across the country to solicit this information. Community resource people are being invited to participate as are facilitators for each of the small group issue discussions to be conducted.

The subjects being discussed at the meeting are: 1. Revitalizing the economy (what should the stimulus package look like?); 2. Ending the War in Iraq; 3. Providing Health Care; 4. Protecting America; 5. Renewing American Global Leadership; and 6. Insuring Global Environmental Health.

"We don't want a dress rehearsal, we're asking for a real economic recovery plan and real action on issues important to Latah County," said Judy Brown. She emphasized that people of every party or no party were equally welcome at this town meeting format gathering. "Too many people are losing their jobs, homes and health care. Too many are in danger of it. These are not Republican or Democratic issues, they are American issues. The time has run out for political posturing. We need our leaders to lead."

For more information, call Judy Brown, 882-0492, or Linda Pall, 882-7255.
