If the Bruins think it is a difficult ride from Spokane, Washington to
Moscow, Idaho, they ought to play a game against Penn State at Happy Valley,
Pennsylvania.

Years and years ago Joe Paterno (Head Coach of the Penn State football team)
campaigned not to have an airport built in Happy Valley. His campaign was
successful. Until recently (when an airport was finally built, visiting
sports teams had to fly into a neighboring airport and bus it from their to
distant Happy Valley, which consisted primarily of canyon roads.

Bear Bryant (old head coach of the University of Alabama) filed complaints
with the city of Happy Valley each time his team was forced to make the
long, enduring trip.

It's all a matter of psychology, much like the University of Minnesota's (I
think it's Minnesota) and its pink visitor's locer room

Seeya round town, Moscow.

"We're a town of about 23,000 with 10,000 college students. The college
students are not very active in local elections (thank goodness!)."

- Dale Courtney (March 28, 2007)
