Ted, just be careful in your attempt to be open minded your brains don't fall out into your lap.

Thanks for your reply...
I think it important to consider all points of view and be open minded, not such an easy thing to do! I fail often at being open minded. While I remain convinced that the overwhelming majority scientific assessment is that human activity is inducing potentially dangerous global warming, with enough probability to warrant substantive action to slow our CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions, I will continue to study the counter views to this position.
I think we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and still maintain a good standard of living, though this may mean some very powerful business concerns will lose out to other emerging interests. Our mostly fossil fueled economy will go the way of the horse and buggy, and lifestyle adjustments may be necessary. This is inevitable given that fossil fuels will deplete. And our current dependence on foreign oil is a national security risk we should mitigate, as former Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greenspan warned in ominous tone as he spoke before the US Congress on solving the USA's energy problems.

Thanks for posting the web site for CO2 Science. I just had a chance to read it. What they say sounds plausible. When I get a chance I will check out their credentials. I don't know if they are valid or not. I am glad that you are open to other views. After I retire and have more time I would like to meet you. Perhaps we could get together for a beer with Gary, Kai, Wayne and Chas.
Roger
