[Vision2020] roadkill

Since roadkill has been mentioned, maybe someone can answer this question 
for me:

Is there a county or state agency charged with disposing of roadkill on 
state highways or county roads?  I sometimes see large animals by the side 
of the road for a couple of days, and I wonder if anyone is supposed to get 
rid of it (besides volunteer with wings or four legs.)
