A good place to understand the kind of decision making that occurs in  
a cult
environment is the book by Anthony Storr: Feet of Clay: A Study of Gurus
[spiritual leaders].  Among the spiritual leaders profiles are Jim  
Jones,
David Koresh, and the Bhagwan.  The short preface itself is an eye  
opener
for those locals who read it.  This book can be special ordered at

by Joel Kramer and Diana Alstad (Berkeley: Frog, Ltd., c1993, ISBN  
1-883319-00-5). It is still in print and costs $19.95. BookPeople
