Women of Color Symposium : ACTivism:Women's Work
March 2 and 3, 2007
Gladish Community Center, Pullman
Keynote Speaker: Dolores Huerta 7:30 pm, Friday, March 2 $1 students $2 non-students
(note there is no charge to those who register for the Symposium by Feb. 15)
Ms. Huerta is sponsored by the Coalition for Women Students Senate. She is the co-founder
of the United Farm Workers.
The Symposium is free to all students, $15 for non-students (Please register by Feb. 15, as
the capacity is only 200 and it is filling up fast!)
Saturday March 3 events include:
a racial justice training by Vazaskia Caldwell and Miriam Barnett of the Tacoma YWCA (open
to the public, free of charge) 9am sponsored by the YWCA of WSU
the Women of Color Awards Luncheon at 11:45
1:30 to 3:30, open to the public, presentations by:
damali ayo (African American writer and artist) sponsored by Black Women's Cuacus
Haunani-Kay Trask (Hawaiian indiginous rights activist) sponsored by the
Association of Pacific and Asian Women)
Rosalinda Guyillen (lLatina network Community-to-Community) sponsored by
Mujeres Unidas
Cecelia FireThunder (Sioux leader and women's rights activist) sponsored by
Native American Women's Association
