Thanks Dan for the info...I was leaving Pullman last night about 8 pm and
from near Krugel Park saw the smoke and was routed off the highway. I
wondered how the building was going be saved and I bet it wasn't because
the flames were coming out the top madly.
> At approximately 1745 Friday evening, Moscow Volunteer Fire Department
> was dispatched for a mutual aid request to Pullman for an elevator fire.
> Moscow sent one engine at first, but MVFD and incident commanders
> quickly decided that more apparatus was necessary to assist Pullman Fire
> Dept and Whitman County Fire District 12. A MVFD Rural water tender was
> dispatched to assist, as well as private apparatus from Bennett Lumber
> Company. Around 2030, an engine was dispatched to the intersection of
> Warbonnet Drive and Highway 8 to aid in water shuttle operations.
>
> At approximately 0530 this morning, MVFD crews were clear of the scene
> and back in Moscow. I'm sure there will still be mop up operations
> taking place through today that could prevent travel on SR270.
