[Vision2020] Global Warming and the Savior State

So let me get this straight. O2 is good for us, for it is what we 
breath and breathing is good. O3 is needed, even though it's very 
caustic and would burn your eyes right out of your sockets, to keep the 
UV rays from giving us skin cancer. And because of our horrendous diets 
here in the US we get more skin cancer than any other country. 
Therefore, we need to keep as much O3 in the upper Stratosphere so that 
the Americans with poor diets don't get cancer from the additional UV 
rays.

But, I thought that with the increased UV penitration into the 
atmosphere that it would increse the production of O3 from the abundant 
O2 that we evil Americans (with bad eating habits) have emmited into 
the air from our evil autos with their evil AC units. I guess that was 
not in the memo.

While CFCs are, in fact, greenhouse gasses, the primary concern with
R-12 wasn't that it was a greenhouse gas: it was that it put atomic
chlorine in the lower stratosphere, catalyzing the transformation of
O3 to O2. Chlorine ion levels in the stratosphere have decreased 7%
since 1993. The public policy achieved its goal.
