Austin,

Thanks! It was great to spend my anniversary with my two loves.

Ken Burns' documentary is something special. If you want, I can loan you a book or two that will totally increase your appreciation for the sport.

Take care,

Deacon

P.S. That whole "two loves" thing might be a bit of an overstatement. Might be.

Happy anniversary! I've tried to cultivate a love of baseball, but I'm stuck at appreciation. Which is probably because my only exposure to it is thanks to Ken Burns...

I know that the Kickball Cup is exciting and all, but what is more exciting is the fact that baseball season is still going on. God bless America, and God bless baseball. What a wonderful age we live in.

My wife and I spent our anniversary on Wednesday at Safeco Field, watching the Mariners hammer five homeruns off of the woeful Twins in a 10-9 extra-inning victory. Great fun.

Take care,

Deacon

BREAKING NEWS in the World Cup:

The world renowned tournament kicked off with a bang this morning. Germany
currently leads Costa Rica 2-1 at the half, with a three goals scored in the
the first 15min. Germany appears strong on the attack, but Costa Rica has
been able to successfully parry the onslaught with well timed offensive
counterattacks. The 2nd half promises to be just as exciting. *Side Note:
Michael Ballack was not in the starting lineup, still sidelined by a nagging
calf injury.

Poland vs. Ecuador will be on at 12noon PST.
