[Vision2020] Heat Related Deaths In Idaho

POCATELLO, Idaho - Officials with Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello says 
the region’s high temperatures have led to an increase in heat-related 
illnesses.

At least six southeastern Idaho residents were hospitalized over the weekend 
for heat exhaustion. PMC Crista Madsen says most of those affected have been 
youngsters who have been outside for a long period of time.

And a nurse at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier says there’s also 
been a recent increase in the number of heart attacks, possibly related to 
the heat wave.

Weather forecasts call for at least a little relief today, with a 30 percent 
chance of isolated thunderstorms and high temperatures cooling to the low 
90s.
