In 2002, Mike Hargrove's Orioles had a record of 63-63 through the first 126
games. After that point, they went 4-32, during which time they compliled
losing streaks of 8, 10, and 12 consecutive games. They finished the year
with a 67-95 record after being at .500 in August.

Amazingly, he wasn't fired until the next season. As Hargrove seems to be
leading the Mariners down the same path, my hope is that the M's don't make
the same mistake the O's did.
