Today is the birthday of George Washington Caver 1861-1943. For those that don't know Carver was born a slave. He erned a degree  in Agricultural Chemistry and became the Director of the Agricultural Research Department at Tuskegee. His work on diversifying crops greatly improved the economy of the south. Along with many other things he invented Peanut Butter.
